Sam Roy brings a lifetime of dedication and expertise to the golf course. Having joined the PGA in 2019, Sam has played competitively since the age of 12 and continues to showcase his skills through active competition with the PGA of Canada. His passion for the game and competitive experience makes him a standout coach for players looking to refine their skills and elevate their game.

Sam has taught over 2,200 lessons—a milestone that made him the highest lesson provider at his previous facility—demonstrating his commitment to student growth and his unparalleled ability to connect with golfers of all levels. Whether it's mastering the fundamentals, developing a winning mindset, or navigating the nuances of competitive play, Sam's tailored coaching style empowers players to achieve their personal best.

Sam's Story
Sam's passion for golf began early in his hometown of Truro, Nova Scotia, where he grew up with a club in his hand. He truly fell in love with the game at the age of 11, and from dawn until dusk, you could always find him at the Truro Golf Club. At 13, Sam started playing competitively, which led to his selection for the Nova Scotia Junior Development Team.
By 19, Sam took on his first major golf role at the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course, where he earned his professional status. This opportunity opened doors to work at some of Toronto's most prestigious golf courses, including The Thornhill Club and Oakdale Golf & Country Club.

Sam’s teaching career began to flourish in October 2022 when he joined Modern Golf Headquarters. Quickly transitioning to full-time instruction, Sam’s reputation as a coach grew, and he was soon given the opportunity to return home when a new location within the organization opened in Halifax. Since then, he has led the company in lessons taught, working with a wide variety of golfers. This experience has helped him develop into the versatile and adaptive coach he is today.
